Revivals Part 3: Mystery Schools, the RCC and the Reformation

“Today’s thinking toward a democratic world state is neither a new trend nor an accidental circumstance; the work of setting up the background of knowledge necessary to the establishing of enlightened democracy among all nations has been carried on for many hundreds of years by secret societies.

Secret societies have existed among all peoples, savage and civilized, since the beginning of recorded history. The esoteric organizations of ancient times were for the most part religious and philosophical. In the medieval world they were philosophical and political. In the modem world, political and social.” – Manly P Hall – The Secret Destiny of America

The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth.  (Rev 12: 15-16)

In part two, we looked at how the great religious Mystery Schools have controlled society since the days of Babylon and Egypt, likely before. Combining religion with higher intellectual teaching, they encompassed science, philosophy, mathematics, governance, the arts and more. These great control systems were destroyed when Jesus of Nazareth appeared on the scene speaking words that no man had ever uttered. In the words of Phillip and Paul Collins,

“[Jesus of Nazareth] dismantled the lies of the elite’s fraudulent priesthood. Those who heard Him and knew Him were well aware of the fact that He was no mere carpenter. Through this man, humanity could once again touch and commune with the God that religion had obfuscated. Recognizing this miraculous person as a threat to their power, the elite had him executed. Yet, not even death could conquer the Nazarene carpenter. To this day, the tomb of Jesus Christ remains empty. Desperate to save their declining hegemony, the ruling class modified their strategy.”

Of course, it wasn’t long before the world saw yet another great World Religion arise in His name with the same “traditions of man” (Mk 7:6-8) bettering himself through his own effort, submitting to men instead of God’s Word for wisdom and ascension, and “gods” (Mary and the saints) to pray to.

Now, I know it’s been argued that the Protestant Reformation was created by the secret societies. Those making that claim support it with evidence that Martin Luther was a Rosicrucian and John Calvin was a crypto-Jew/Freemason. Luther’s seal did undoubtedly look like the “Rosy-Cross” of Rosicrucianism, and the problems with Calvin only begin with his Geneva University logo.

But then we look at the horrible martyrdom of men like William Tyndale, Jan Hus, John Wycliffe and others to see that this was indeed a great move of God, working through men who were willing to give their lives to put the gospel back into the hands of the common people.

Even in the darkest days when the Roman Catholic Church kept the scripture from the common man, God kept his Gospel alive. Fox’s Book of Martyrs documents the horrors that believers endured during that time, and I recently came across the book, Rulers of Evil by F. Tupper Saussy. Saussy’s extensively researched work offers a history of the Roman Catholic Church and the part it played in the creation of America.

“When the Old and New Testaments were adopted as the Empire’s official sacred writings, they, too, were given to the exclusive care of the priests. And in accord with Roman tradition, the people learned sacred content from discretionary retelling. This had to be for the sake of the Holy Empire. For should the people acquire biblical knowledge, they would know that Pontifex Maximus was not a legitimate Christian entitlement. Knowing this, they would not bow to his supremacy. The Empire could collapse. And so, the monarchial Roman Church forcibly suppressed the Bible’s intelligent reading…

Sprinkled throughout the Empire, however, were isolated Christian assemblies who had preserved Scripture from the days of the early Church. For them the Bible invited an ongoing, personal communion with the Creator of the universe. They lived by the writings of which Rome was so jealous. By the thirteenth century, these assemblies had grown so vibrant that Pope Gregory IX declared unauthorized Bible study a heresy. He further decreed that “it is the duty of every Catholic to persecute heretics.” To manage the persecution, Gregory established the Pontifical Inquisition.” – F. Tupper Saussy – Rulers of Evil

Did the Roman Catholic Church create the Reformation (arguably the first “revival”?) to quell that uprising? Saussy documents Rome’s efforts to control scripture after Gutenberg.

“Just as Leo X’s corruption had ignited Luther, Clement VII’s shrewdness determined how the Church would deal with the proliferation of Bibles. Clement was personally advised by the cagey Niccolo Machiavelli, inventor of modern political science, and Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, Chancellor of England. Machiavelli and Wolsey opined that both printing and Protestantism could be turned to Rome’s advantage by employing movable type to produce a literature that would confuse, diminish, and ultimately marginalize the Bible. Cardinal Wolsey, who would later found Christ Church College at Oxford[!], characterized the project as “to put learning against learning.” – ibid (bold, emphasis added)

In this effort, the Bible’s teaching of man gaining eternal life by simply believing in Christ’s death and resurrection was twisted to reflect the learning of the Gnostics. One final quote from Saussy.

“An enormous trove of gnostic learning had been brought from the eastern Mediterranean by agents of Clement VII’s great grandfather, Cosimo d’Medici. Suppressed since the Emperor Justinian had piously shut down the pagan colleges of Athens back in 529, these celebrated mystical, scientific and philosophical scrolls and manuscripts flattered humanity. They taught that human intelligence was competent to determine truth from falsehood without guidance or assistance from any god. Since, as Protagoras put it, “man is the measure of all things,” man could control all the living powers of the universe. If elected and initiated into the secret knowledge, or gnosis, man could master the cabalah – the “royal science” of names, numbers, and symbols – to create his very own divinity.” ibid p.23

In their book The Scientific Dictatorship, the Collins brothers detail how Science will be the final controlling (Mystery School) world religion, Christianity having been eliminated through the diluting of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And that is exactly what we find when we take a critical look at the “Great Revivals” of American Protestantism. The Counter Reformation has never ended.

OK, with all that in mind, let’s finally get to the American Revivals!
