Revivals Pt 16: The Counterfeit “Enlightenment” Pt 1

Were you aware that during the “Dark Ages” (5th–10th centuries AD), while less than 10-15% of the people in Roman Catholic Europe couldn’t even read or write, that Europe was surrounded by highly advanced empires, some reportedly extending all the way to the Americas?

History makes the Enlightenment sound as though the entire world suddenly woke up to intelligent thought in the 16th century. But that is patently false.

Why is that important?

It’s important because “Enlightenment Thought” is not merely “secular.” It’s a religion. It is the Luciferian Mystery School teaching of all ages, and over the past 500 years it has successfully indoctrinated the entire world; and America, particularly infiltrated American Christianity has played a key role.

It’s important because the blending of Enlightenment Thought with Christianity is ultimately behind the toothless, carnal Gospel that’s being pedaled by today’s false teachers and their progeny. Tragically, the average Christian is none the wiser.

For the past year I’ve been writing about how the Revivalists of the 18th through the 20th centuries brought Mystery School teachings to Protestantism through secret societies, most pointedly through Freemasonic doctrines that champion such occult ideals as Social Justice and a coming World Utopia. But, Christians were being wooed by Enlightenment Thought long before the Revivalists ever appeared on the scene. Gutenberg’s press miraculously brought God’s Word (the Bible) back to the common man in 1440, but also facilitated the mass spread of these ideas.

Still, I wondered how the thoughts of ancient 6th century BC Greek philosophers had garnered such immediate respect among Christian leaders. I learned that it wasn’t sudden at all, and discovered the unlikely vehicle that had carried occult “Classical scholarship” through the Dark/Middle Ages; from ancient Greece to Europe, and finally, to America. So, for the next few posts in this series, I’ll be taking closer look at the Enlightenment. This turned into a lengthy study, (which is why I haven’t posted anything in a while), so I’ll be breaking it down into smaller, hopefully more palatable sections that I’ll publish over the next several days:

Part 1: The Counterfeit Enlightenment

Part 3: Islam and Freemasonry in the Bible

Enlightenment Basics (The False Enlightenment)

Let’s start with what we’ve been taught about the Enlightenment. Here’s the description offered on Wikipedia;

The Age of Enlightenment or the Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual and philosophical movement that occurred in Europe, especially Western Europe, in the 17th and 18th centuries, with global [🙄]. influences and effects.

The Enlightenment’s starting point was the secular world and included a range of ideas centered on the value of human happiness, the pursuit of knowledge obtained by means of reason and the evidence of the senses, and ideals such as natural law, liberty, progress, toleration, fraternity, constitutional government, and separation of church and state.

The Enlightenment was preceded by the Scientific Revolution [/ Scientific Renaissance beginning in the 1400s] and the work of Francis Bacon and John Locke, among others.” – Wikipedia [formatting added]

Sir Francis Bacon – (this guy was no pauper)

In this series, we’ve repeatedly seen that the great influencers in our history books are almost always occultists. Bacon and Locke are no exception. Francis Bacon was an occultist, John Locke was an alchemist who was close friends with Royal Society founders Robert Boyle and Isaac Newton).

Immanuel Kant (1724 –1804)
Immanuel Kant (1724 –1804)

German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724 –1804) defined Enlightenment as the “Maturity” of humanity, while,

[I]mmaturity is the inability to use one’s own understanding without the guidance of another [ie. God].”Immanuel Kant

Kant’s “maturity” is “moral rationalism.” Rationalism being;

“[T]he epistemological view that regards reason as the chief source and test of knowledge.(Wikipedia)

Rationalism is the futile hope that man can use his reason to explain his existence and cure societal ills without acknowledging his Creator… when separation from God is precisely what caused his fallen state to begin with!

It’s just the original lie, the Mystery School lie of all ages; that man can find lasting meaning in life apart from his Creator.

For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened [illumination] and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. (Gen 3:5)

This, in a nutshell, is Heathendom.

Occultists claim that man reaches “Enlightenment” when he looks inward for his “divine spark;” – aka becomes his own god. 33rd degree Freemason Manly P. Hall states,

“This is at once the primary purpose and the consummate achievement of the Mysteries: that man shall become aware of and consciously be reunited with the divine source of himself without tasting of physical dissolution.” – Manly P. Hall, Secret Teachings of all Ages, p 76

Rather than acknowledging man’s chief problem as sin, Occultists see it as a lack of “enlightenment” about their own “divinity.”

Contrary to this, scripture tells us of the futility of man’s reasonings and philosophies apart from the truth of his Creator.

I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. (Jer 10:23)

The Lord knows the thoughts of human beings that they are futile. (Psa 94:11)

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isa 55:8-9)

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless. (1 Cor 3:19-20, also Jer 17:5, Psa 146;3-4…)

Rather than leading to “enlightenment,” man’s reasonings and philosophies apart from God lead to utter insanity.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. (Rom 1:28, KJV translates debased as “reprobate.”)

Reprobate G1384
ἀδόκιμος
adokimos
ad-ok’-ee-mos
G1384; unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): – castaway, rejected, reprobate.

… we glaringly see this in the world today.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…. (Rom 1:21-22)

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Col 2:8)

But while most Christians are somewhat aware of Enlightenment Thought being unbiblical, they still view the Scientific Revolution and Age of Enlightenment as good; citing Democracy in the free world and advancements in Western Medicine to justify the reverential awe in which they hold enlightened thought and “science.” Centuries of indoctrination have disconnected them from the fact that the True Enlightenment entered the world 2000 years ago.

The TRUE ENLIGHTENMENT

From the fall of man to Egypt and Babylon to Classical Greek Culture, the controlling elite have always used their Mystery School “wisdom” to control man. And just as scripture foretold, their lies were demolished by the coming of the Son of God and His Supernatural Kingdom Reign that brought TRUE ENLIGHTENMENT to all who believed in Him. (1 Jn 1:1)

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isa 9:2)

Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.” (Jn 8:12)

Enlightenment Thought IS that darkness. It is the very ANTITHESIS to biblical thought.

Scripture does not encourage us to be ignorant, but in direct contradiction to Kant’s view, it tells us of the importance of REASONING TOGETHER WITH THE GUIDANCE OF GOD AND HIS WORD.

Come now and let us reason together” says the Lord. (Isa 1:18)

Be ready to give an answer to every man who asks a reason for the hope within you. (1 Peter 3:15)

The apostle Paul reasoned with the Jews from the Scriptures to prove to them that Jesus was the Christ. (Acts 17:2, 18:4; 19:8,9; 28:23).

But to lean on human reason apart from God is to live in what scripture calls the flesh.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Rom 8:6, also Mt 26:41, Jn 3:6, 6:51, 6:56, Rom 8:5, 8:8, 13:14, Gal 5:16, 5:17, 6:8, Eph 5:31…)

So, we’re exhorted to:

Take thoughts captive and submit them to the Word of God (2 Cor 10:5)

Meditate upon the Word (Josh 1:8)

Pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17)

These exhortations in the Bible are not mere suggestions on how to live a more “fulfilled” Christian life. They are crucial instructions on how to effectively walk in FAITH in the LIGHT OF TRUTH in this dark world.

Think of our “enlightened society” in context of Jesus’ Words:

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Lk 18:8b)

The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) and Creation of “Ignorant” Christianity

When Christ established His Spiritual Kingdom, the True Enlightenment; the True Mystery (Col 1:26) on earth, the prince of the earth was judged (Jn 16:11). Having lost the war, he immediately set out to destroy the power and spread of the glorious truth.

Initially, Rome tried to destroy the new “sect” of Christianity by outright persecution. But when it realized persecution only served to advance Christianity, it changed its tactics and erected a new counterfeit Religion in Christ’s name.

Two Beasts

Due to the prevalence of Dispensationalism, most of us have been taught that the first beast in chapter 13 of Revelation (with the head wound that was healed) refers to a coming tyrannical ruler who will amaze the world by rising from the dead, causing all to worship him.

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (Rev 13:4)

But, in his study on the book of Revelation, Phillip Mauro identifies this symbolic creature as “the earthly power of Heathendom” (aka counterfeit Mystery School “wisdom”). How much sense does it make that Occultist’s obscured this in their popularized “End Times Script?”

Mauro goes on to identify the second beast of chapter 13 as Roman Catholicism. He writes;

“This second beast has identifying marks of a very striking character. In the first place, it comes into the closest association with the first beast, and continues along with it to the end, when both perish together (19:20). We should therefore inquire whether there has been anything in the nature of a political system that arose “out of the earth” (the ordered part of the world) during the continuance of the Roman Empire; that came into intimate union therewith; and that has continued in that intimacy until now? And if such there be, then we should inquire further, does it correspond with the identifying marks here given for our enlightenment? To these questions, everyone who has the slightest acquaintance with history will say there has been such a system; for beyond a doubt, Romanism did arise during the course of existence of the Roman Empire; it is a system of religious character and political aim; and it has been, from the very beginning, closely identified with the nations composing the Roman Empire…

Romanism is… the most subtle and deceptive of all, for its claim to supreme governmental authority is based upon the blasphemous pretension that its head, the Pope, is the ‘vicar of Christ’ [literally “Christ on earth”]…

Romanism arose not from without but from within the pale of professed Christianity. It has set itself forth not as the adversary of the Kingdom of God, but on the contrary as being the true realization and embodiment thereof… For the gradual transformation of Imperial Rome into Papal Rome has been a marvel of history greater and more mysterious even than the rise and career of Mohammedanism…” – Phillip Mauro Of Things Which Must Soon Come To Pass, pp 410, 411, 294, 306, 307

Here’s how 33rd Degree Freemason Manly P. Hall describes Papal Rome from an occult worldview. Not the blurring of true Christianity with “the Christian Church” (RCC).

Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990)

“The rise of the Christian Church [RCC] broke up the intellectual pattern of the classical pagan world. By persecution of this pattern’s ideologies it drove the secret societies into greater secrecy; the pagan intellectuals then reclothed their original ideas in a garment of Christian phraseology, but bestowed the keys of the symbolism only upon those duly initiated and bound to secrecy by their vows.– Manly P. Hall, America’s Secret Destiny

I’ll also be getting to who the “initiated” are in a bit.

In other words, Rome never fell. While remaining a government, The Roman Catholic Church obscured the TRUE ENLIGHTENMENT / Kingdom of Christ.

The devious counterfeit erected in the name of “Christianity” is accused for “suppressing enlightenment thought for centuries.” Manly P. Hall again,

“Europe, passing from the obscuration of the medieval period, was coming into the light of the modern way of life; the motion of the Renaissance had spread like ever widening ripples over the surface of a stagnant pool. Printing had been discovered; the mental emancipation of man from the tyranny of ignorance, superstition, and fear was gradually being accomplished…”– Manly P. Hall, The Secret Destiny of America

Under the Roman Catholic Church, only the higher classes were educated, and God’s Word (true enlightenment) was further kept from the common man by forbidding its translation into “the vulgar tongue” (a language people actually understood).

OK, but Where Did Enlightenment Thought Originate?

That’s the impression we’re given.

Gutenberg’s Press

But to answer that question we’re usually pointed to Gutenberg’s press, its first large-scale printing being a set of 200 illustrated Latin bibles in 1455. But the Renaissance also saw the republishing of Classical Knowledge, such as the long-lost works of Plato and Aristotle. Which begs the question, where had they been hiding for more than a thousand years?

That reminds me again of the Red Horse of Revelation; ever at the heels of the White Horse, destroying every advancement of Christ’s Gospel. Rather than the miracle of the common man once again having the wisdom of God’s Word in his own language to direct him, history gives us the impression that men suddenly shook off the yoke of “oppressive Christianity” and got “enlightened!” Wikipedia again,

The transmission of the Greek Classics to Latin Western Europe during the Middle Ages was a key factor in the development of intellectual life in Western Europe.”- Wikipedia (formatting added)

(Incidentally, here’s more of their “End Times” prophecy forcing script):

Anyway, that brings us back around to the question I posed at the beginning: Were you aware that during the “Dark Ages” , while less than 10-15% of the people in Roman Catholic Europe could even read or write, that Europe was surrounded by highly advanced Islamic empires?

In fact, Europe’s “Dark Ages” (5th–11th/14th centuries depending on the source) coincided with Islam’s “Golden Age” (8th to roughly the 13th century), which lines up nicely with the Plague, the Protestant Reformation and the discovery of America.

Yup. Spain in particular (the Iberian Peninsula from which Christopher Columbus set sail upon the ocean blue) was home to the Moors, some sources claiming that their great empire extended all the way to the Americas – (which is a separate study in itself).  But according to Wikipedia,

“While it is impossible to calculate literacy rates in pre-modern Islamic societies, it is almost certain that they were relatively high, at least in comparison to their European counterparts” – Wikipedia: The Islamic Golden Age <— Lots of interesting stuff.
