We’ve been looking at the history of the “enlightenment thought” that the Revivalists were all so determined to seed into Protestantism. Knowing these thoughts originated in the antiquities of Aristotle, Plato and the like, I wondered how this occult worldview had suddenly re-emerged – right alongside the Reformation.
Many of us have seen our way out of the Futurism and Dispensationalism that permeates the church today, but have been left without a sound interpretation of the Revelation of Jesus Christ (the book of Revelation) to replace it with. So, I’ve been fascinated with Phillip Mauro’s analysis of the book. In my last article, I talked about how Mauro reveals the second beast of Revelation chapter 13 to be the Roman Catholic Church (RCC), and went over his explanation that Rome didn’t fall, rather it became a religion that still exists today.
Looking at the Dark Ages from which the “Enlightenment” emerged, I found that there were differing views on the historical causes of both. And I learned that while Europe was drudging through its Dark Ages, it was surrounded by highly educated and advanced Islamic societies basking in their “Golden Age.”
Maybe everybody else knew that?
The bottom line is that “enlightenment thought”/ “the wisdom of antiquity” didn’t just re-emerge once “oppressive Christianity” was moved out of the way. It had been there for quite some time.
Anyway, TODAY I’ll be looking at how John’s vision on Patmos (the book of Revelation) also foretold ISLAM and its affect on Christianity.
Islam Today
The conflict between Islam and the ecumenical alliance of “Christianity” & “Judaism” is heating up in today’s Arab/Israeli crisis.
And it’s all scripted. The Luciferian’s final goal is clearly an Ecumenism that includes Islam. Case and point:

Having swiftly expanded from its mysterious origins, Islam continues to stand at the forefront of global wealth and technological progress and accounts for a quarter of the world’s population today. According to Azan Times,
“Thursday, April 25, 2024, it is estimated that 2,026,273,117 people around the world identify themselves as Muslims, which represents over 25% of the world’s total population of 8,105,092,469.” – Azan Times, Muslim Population
Largely removed from our western world, this formidable force is much more significant to the enemy’s endgame than British Israel.
But let’s back up and look at the origins of Islam and what scripture tells us about it.
Where did Islam come from?
Here’s the well accepted account from Wikipedia.
“According to the traditional account, the Islamic prophet Muhammad began receiving what Muslims consider to be divine revelations in 610 CE, calling for submission to the one God, preparation for the imminent Last Judgement, and charity for the poor and needy… In 622 CE Muhammad migrated to the city of Yathrib (now known as Medina), where he began to unify the tribes of Arabia under Islam, returning to Mecca to take control in 630 and order the destruction of all pagan idols. By the time he died in about 11 AH (632 CE), almost all the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula had converted to Islam…” Wikipedia
Thanks Wikipedia. but there’s a problem with that story. For starters, according to Calvary Chapel’s Jay Smith and others, Muhammed never even existed! Citing the book, Did Muhamad Exist? by Robert Spencer, Smith points out that the first historical mentions of Muhammed were written long after his death: Muhammed died in 632, but the first biography of “the prophet” by Ibn Ishaq wasn’t penned until 786.

Smith’s argument is compelling. But Smith and Spencer are both Christian Zionists, eager to side with Israel against its enemy (Isaac vs Ishmael and all that).
But the Muslim bloodline claim that all Arabs are the “sons of Abraham” turns out to be false as well.
“All the Arabs are descended from Isma’il and Qahtan. Some of the people of Yaman claim that Qahtan was a son of Isma’il and so according to them Isma’il is the father of all the Arabs.” – Ibn Hisham
The problem with that is the Bible does not list Qahtan as one of Ishmael’s sons.
And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. (Gen 25:13-15 KJV)
It’s been suggested that Qahtan may be another way of saying “Jokshan,” who was a son of Abraham, but Jokshan’s mother was Abraham’s later wife, Keturah (1Chron 1:32-33). So Jokshan was not a descendent of Ishmael.
Christians have been taught to see “Ishmael” as synonymous with “Muslim” and all Arabs as sons of Ishmael. But neither is true.
So, we’ve got both Jews and Muslims justifying their claims to Palestine and Jerusalem by asserting their origins in Abraham, and Christian Zionists defending the Jewish position by exposing Islam as false… But the fact is that the New Testament doesn’t support either one. Rather, it tells us that:
The seed of Abraham is Christ.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Gal 3:16)
The sons of Abraham are those who are of faith.
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. (Gal 3: 7-9)
This is the Israel of God.
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature [G2937]. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. (Gal 6:14-16)
On a side note, I considered Walter Veith’s (SDA) popular claim that the Roman Catholic Church created Islam. But I’m inclined to disagree. For one thing, everything Veith presents is answered by the COMMON ORIGINS of both the RCC and Islam: the Mystery Schools of Babylon and Egypt (aka Heathendom). And for another, it just doesn’t track with their dialectic mode of operation. But that’s just my opinion.
Information about the evils of Rome is widespread on the internet. But our topic today is Islam. And like I said in the beginning.
As Wikipedia tells us, Islam has been with us since the 7th century. So, while being relatively young in world history, it has been a significant force in the world for a big part of Christ’s earthly reign. But the only thing I’d ever heard in church about it was that Arabs were the sons of Ishmael and that they were Israel’s enemy in the end times.
Which brings us to:
Islam in the Book of Revelation
Bible Study Time!
Phillip Mauro explains that the fifth and sixth trumpets of Revelation 9 describe the rise of Islam. First, here’s the passage:
1 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. 2 He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. 3 Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6 And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.
7 In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, 8 their hair like women’s hair, and their teeth like lions’ teeth; 9 they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails. 11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon. (Rev 9:1-11)
Most of us have been taught that this is something that will happen during the Great Tribulation directly preceding Christ’s return. But, again, Mauro corrects the 19th century Freemasonic Dispensational view to bring us back to the truth of Christ’s spiritual, present reign on earth; “Christ in you; the hope of glory,” or as I recently heard it called: “a contained eschatology.” Properly interpreting prophecy symbolically, and drawing on the Old Testament for correct interpretation of those symbols, he expounds on the passage:
“Out of the pit arose dense smoke, as the smoke of a great furnace.
This recalls one of the signs that are to precede the great and terrible day of the Lord, namely, “pillars (or columns) of smoke” (Joel 2:30).
Clearly this smoke is spiritual. It affects “the SUN” (the power of GOVERNMENT) and “the AIR” (the SPIRITUAL REALM).
And there came out of the smoke locusts; and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power…
All these and other symbols and figures supply us with clues to the meaning of the vision…
In Joel the armies of Assyria which were to overrun the land of Israel were figured as locusts; and there too, as in the passage before us, it was said,
“The appearance of them is as the appearance of horsemen” (Joel 2:4).
So it is plain that the locusts are conquering armies, sweeping over the earth in dense ranks.
Furthermore, from Daniel 10:13, 20, it appears that the great empires of earth have each a presiding angel over them; so that we have warrant for the view that the vision we are studying pictures the COMING UPON THE SCENE OF A MIGHTY NATION, which was to have a SUPERNATURAL origin, rising up MYSTERIOUSLY out of some obscure region, and which was to pursue a career of conquest, pouring over the earth in dense armies, composed largely of horsemen; a nation that was to have over them a spiritual head whose name signifies ‘a destroyer.’
But this conquering people was to be unlike the Assyrians, the ‘locusts’ of Joel’s vision, in that it was to have SPIRITUAL POWER, as well as, and MORE PROMINENTLY THAN, PHYSICAL power. The repeated reference to ‘SCORPIONS’ (vv. 3, 5, 10) emphasizes this.
Moreover, the statement of verse 10 is illuminating:
‘And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails”’.
This may be read in the light of Isaiah 9:15 as indicating THE DEADLY POWER OF FALSE PROPHECY, or SOME SPECIAL FORM OF DESTRUCTIVE FALSEHOOD. For according to that Scripture
‘the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail’.
Briefly then, the various symbols here presented to our view all point, and in no uncertain way, to that marvel of history, the empire founded by the false prophet, Mohammed, an empire of vast dimensions that was established and extended through an unprecedented combination of stupendous military forces and mighty spiritual energies; in which latter was the secret of its amazing potence.
For Islam is a mystery of the darkest character. It defies explanation on any natural basis. Its origin is so utterly unlike that of all the other empires as to leave no alternative but the view that IT ORIGINATED SUPERNATURALLY; and its career is just as difficult to explain upon natural grounds as its origin.
It is manifestly A DESIGNED COUNTERPART OF CHRISTIANITY; for its visible source was in a personal leader, who claims to be the sole representative and prophet of God, and in a book, that is venerated by its adherents as the word of God.
It has, moreover, the supernatural power to inspire multitudes, even o stern, fierce and bloodthirsty men, with a most extraordinary degree of religious fanaticism, rising at times to the pitch of frenzy. In this particular it is without any parallel in the history of mankind…
[W]hile studying the visions of Chapter 9, two conclusions force themselves upon me:
first, that the symbols of that chapter correspond with remarkable exactness to the outstanding features of Islamism;
and second, that there is nothing else in the whole range of human observation that in anywise answers to those symbols.
Indeed the history of Islam is so unique, so manifestly supernatural, and corresponds, moreover, so exactly with the symbols of these visions (fifth and six trumpets) that able expositors of the futurist school fully admit the lose agreement between them; and some of them go so far as to suggest that, in Mohammedanism, these visions are a “germinant”, or anticipatory, fulfilment. Thus it is stated by one of the ablest of that school that:
‘Mohammedanism has a superman and a book. It is a satanic imitation of Christianity. It has spread over a great part of the christianized world. At this time [apx 1929] it embraces in its curse over 200 million souls. Its founder was, without a doubt, devil inspired. Mohmmed, the fallen star*, opened the pit and let loose the darkening power of Satan; and he flooded the eastern part of the christianized earth, and considerable portions of the western also, with doctrines which can justly be termed hellish in their nature and effects.”
From verse 4 in Revelation 9 we learn that protection was to be given during the time of this plague [of deadly false prophecy and falsehood], to the true people of God ; for it was to fall only upon
“those men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads“…
Mauro explains that Islam is further depicted by the “faces of men and hair of women; a virile people with long hair, which in Bible times was the mark of a barbaric people (1 Cor 11:14, 15). In support of this, he quotes historian Gibbom’s, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
“…No power known to history has ever wielded the sceptre over a wider sphere than this has done…”
and Grattan Guinness
“They reigned by right of conquest over the nations of the East, to whom the name of liberty was unknown, and who were accustomed to applaud in their tyrants the acts of violence and severity that were performed at their own expense. Under the last of the Ommiades the Arabian empire extended two hundred days’ journey from east to west, from the confines of Tartary and India, to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.”
Significantly, he goes on to write,
“It is not, however, because of the amazing spread of Islam in so short a time, or because of the absolute and tyrannical character of its rule, that place is given it in these visions of God. Rather is it because by it the judgment of God was executed upon those parts of the earth which had been illuminated by the gospel from its beginning, but which had turned that heavenly light into darkness worse than that of Paganism, and of which it might well be exclaimed in the words of Christ, “How great is that darkness!” (Mat. 6:23). For, in the words of Dr. Green, “It is needful to remember the character of that “Christianity” which called Mohamet and his followers to arms; thereof he quotes the following description by Isaac Taylor.
‘What Mahomet and his caliphs found in all directions whither their scimitars cut a path for them, was a superstition so abject, an idolatry so gross and shameless, church doctrines so arrogant, church practices so dissolute and so puerile, that the strong-minded Arabians felt themselves inspired as God’s messengers to reprove the errors of the world, and authorized as God’s avengers to punish apostate Christendom.'”

That last part really struck me. Mauro’s interpretation is much more consistent with a close examination of history and our current day than the futurist script with all eyes on British Israel.
And I’d never looked at the FLOOD OF FALSE TEACHINGS in Protestantism as JUDGMENT. But if Mauro is right, we’ve found THE SOURCE OF THE FALSE TEACHINGS that INFILTRATED the Reformation and made their way to America through the highly esteemed REVIVALISTS.
Not only did Islam crush RCC Europe as Henri Pirenne describes, but it brought with it the MYSTERY SCHOOL TEACHINGS OF HEATHENDOM under the guise of “Enlightenment thought” through SECRET SOCIETIES. This brings us once again to the outer/ overt/ exoteric and inner/ covert/ esoteric levels within all religions. So, next we’ll look at what the book of Revelation tells us about this hidden force that underlies the great Abrahamic religions and our “Enlightened” society.
