“Watch Out That No One Deceives You”

“Jesus said to them, ‘Watch out that no one deceives you.’”Mark 13:5

One of the greatest threats to our walk with the Lord in that the days ahead will the deception. As a Christian who loves Jesus we need to realize that no one is exempt from this warning. Jesus warned the apostles. He told them that many would come in his name claiming they were him. And yet we are  not to fear.

We also need to understand in this day and time that the only interpretation of the word must come by the Spirit of God into the hearts of men. We are to remain pure in our faith and be watchful of the pit falls that exist in our world.. I’m writing this is because there are many who think they are knowledgeable of the word, scholars, teachers and others yet they are greatly deceived because they do not have the relationship with the author of the word the one and only true God. Christ saw how those elect Pharisees were deceived; They could quote the scriptures and knew all the laws but they did not have a personal relationship with the Father. We know from scripture that even the Master Deceiver called Satan knows the Word.. We have to be on guard. In Mark 13:9-13 “Brother will betray brother to death and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. .Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Even in the midst of this warning we must stay close to our Lord and His word. We will be ok in the end through the relationship of Jesus Christ in our lives. We must have an active relationship with Jesus. In 2 Cor. 2:8-11 it states I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him. Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,in order that Satan might not outwit us, for we are not unaware of his schemes. It is vital that we don’t peddle Gods word for profit or for self gain. We must speak before God with sincerity, as those who are sent from God.

The question to us is; are we being sent or are we doing because it is something to do. Ask yourself if you have obeyed Gods commands because you have heard him speak to you. We are to be a pleasing aroma of Christ to those who are being saved and to those who are perishing. We must know that there is a way of escape when we are in Christ Jesus. Do you know yours? Today’s world is filled with great deception & darkness, and yet our job is not to change the darkness. Our job is to shine the light. Is your light shining? God’s glory is shown to those who remain faithful, especially when presented with opposition. The battle is not against one another, even though our natural man nature desires to fight. It is our responsibility to know the strategies of deception as followers of Christ, so we live in His calm confidence; complete with the Holy Spirits power, love and a sound mind.

My prayer today is that you know the difference between God’s Power and Man’s intellect.

Shalom, Much Love, Julie

The greatest threat to Christianity in the days ahead
is not persecution, but deception!

There are many ‘translations’ to the Word of God, yet only one ‘interpretation’ from the Spirit of God into the hearts of man. As believers, we are to stand guard and protect the purity of our faith, lest we fall into one or more of the many traps set before us.

“Jesus said to them, ‘Watch out that no one deceives you.’”

~ Mark 13:5

As believers, we are all vulnerable. No one is exempt from Christ’s warnings. Knowing the Word and the Author of the Word is imperative, however, the teachers of the Law were Scripture scholars, yet were locked in deception. Judas, a close, intimate companion of the Jesus Christ became an agent of deception. Even the master deceiver himself, Satan, acknowledged Jesus Christ and quoted Scripture. They all knew Jesus AND the Word!

How can I recognize when I fall into deception?

Truthfully, if we are deceived, we won’t know we are deceived, because we are deceived!

So, what must I do?

In Christ, there is an exit strategy for every captivity; including deception. Christ came to set us free by equipping us with His Spirit, “…in order that Satan might not outwit us. We are not unaware of his schemes.” ~ 2 Cor. 2:11

LOVE IS THE ANSWER!

During this Deeper Living event, we will discuss;

  1. The top three deceptions that threaten the stability of our faith.
  2. How to protect our faith from falling into the traps of deception.
  3. The role and honor as a Soldier of Christ

We are living in a world filled with increasing dangers, darkness, and deception, yet our job is not to change the darkness. No! Our job is to shine the light.

God’s glory is shown while the soldier remains faithful, especially when confronted with opposition. Our battle is not against each other, even though our carnal nature desires to fight. It is our responsibility to know the strategies of deception as soldiers of Christ, that we may live in the overflow of His calm confidence; complete with God’s power, love and a sound mind.

LOVE NEVER FAILS.
