Does all the hype and fear about ISIS feel just a little bit familiar? That’s because it’s the oldest trick in the book, dating back to Roman times; “create the enemies you need”. The game plan is this simple:
- Have the media create a perceived threat to the American people.
- Create a few false flag events to create outrage, fear and hate. (ie, journalist beheadings – proven to be fake)
- Declare war with public opinion on your side.
The propaganda campaign by the establishment portraying ISIS as a monumental threat will result in the United States intervening in Syria and overthrowing the al-Assad government. The Foley and Sotloff videos and the resultant shift in pubic approval for violating the national sovereignty of Syria were timed to coincide with the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks to gain the maximum amount of war propaganda leverage.
Lurid propaganda campaign stampedes public into accepting another war

Although many members of Congress and the establishment media portray ISIS as the number one security threat to the nation, others have taken a more measured and even a highly critical view of the move toward war.
ISIS Threat a Monumental “Farce”
In the wake of Obama’s speech on ISIS Wednesday, his former top counterterrorism adviser at the State Department, Daniel Benjamin, told The New York Times the ISIS threat is nothing less than a “farce.”
“It’s hard to imagine a better indication of the ability of elected officials and TV talking heads to spin the public into a panic, with claims that the nation is honeycombed with sleeper cells, that operatives are streaming across the border into Texas or that the group will soon be spraying Ebola virus on mass transit systems — all on the basis of no corroborated information,” said Benjamin.
Obama admitted during his speech an ISIS attack on America is a remote possibility at best. He characterized the group as a regional threat and said there is no specific information showing it poses a direct threat to the United States.
In addition to Obama’s remarks and terrorism experts discounting and downplaying the ISIS threat at home, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, said ISIS does not currently threaten the United States. Dempsey said there is no evidence the group is engaged in “active plotting against the homeland.”
Propaganda Campaign for War Wins Hearts and Minds
However, due to incessant propaganda and repeated exaggerations by the establishment media about the capability of ISIS, a large number of Americans now believe ISIS is a threat to the United States.
According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll, in the wake of the unverified and highly suspicious alleged beheadings of journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, Americans now overwhelmingly support military action against ISIS.
Today, 71 percent of all Americans say they support airstrikes in Iraq — up from 54 percent three weeks ago and from 45 percent in June. Among those who say Obama has been too cautious, 82 percent support the strikes; among those who think his handling of international affairs has been about right, 66 percent support them.
From the Washington Post on Monday:
Nearly as many Americans — 65 percent — say they support the potentially more controversial action of launching airstrikes in Syria, which Obama has not done. That is more than double the level of support a year ago for launching airstrikes to punish the Syrian regime for using chemical weapons.
The United Nations and the United States lied about Syria using chemical weapons. It was not the al-Assad government in Damascus, but U.S. and Saudi supported “rebels” who were responsible for a chemical weapons attack in Ghouta that reportedly killed at least 355 people. Residents in the area believe “certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the dealing gas attack,” Dale Gavlak and Yahya Ababneh wrote for MintPress News last August.

CIA And US Military Fight Under Al Qaeda Command In Syria
American Special Forces train Syrian rebels to Jordan
By Georges Malbrunot March 1, 2013
“They structure, frame and give advice to Syrian insurgents since late last year,” says our source.
This training takes place at the “King Abdullah special operation training center” (Kasotec) located north of Amman, the Jordanian capital.
The American Special Forces are participating in this training to strengthen the capacity for action of the opponents of Bashar al-Assad. They are struggling in fact facing the air superiority of the Syrian army. British Special Forces and a handful of French also help Syrian rebels, always Kasotec.
American Special Forces are also deployed in Jordan “penetrations in Syria” to monitor chemical weapons regime. Their release into the hands of jihadists or pro-Iranian Hezbollah raises the greatest concern in Israel, the United States, but also in the Russian ally Bashar al-Assad.
We revealed the other day that Delta American Special Forces units were deployed in Harissa north of Beirut. Ostensibly for training their Lebanese counterparts. But in fact, these units are also Delta penetration in Syria.
Yesterday in Rome, John Kerry, the new Secretary of State, announced non-lethal aid to the Syrian rebels (bulletproof vests, armored vehicles and training). But as often in conflict, the Special Forces did not wait for the official announcements for action. In great secrecy, of course ….
Americans Are Training Syria Rebels In Jordan: Spiegel (Reuters)
Americans are training Syrian anti-government fighters in Jordan, the German weekly Der Spiegel said on Sunday, quoting what it said were participants and organizers.
Spiegel said it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were from the army but said some wore uniforms. The training focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.
Some 200 men have already received such training over the past three months and there are plans in the future to provide training for a total 1,200 members of the “Free Syrian Army” in two camps in the south and the east of the country.
Britain’s Guardian newspaper also reported that U.S. trainers were assisting Syrian rebels in Jordan. British and French instructors were also participating in the U.S.-led effort, the Guardian said on Saturday, citing Jordanian security sources.
Jordanian intelligence services are involved in the program, which aims to build around a dozen units totaling some 10,000 fighters to the exclusion of radical Islamists, Spiegel reported.
“The Jordanian intelligence services want to prevent Salafists (radical Islamists) crossing from their own country into Syria and then returning later to stir up trouble in Jordan itself,” one of the organizers told the paper.
The reports could not be independently verified.
A spokesman for the U.S. Defense Department declined immediate comment on the Spiegel report. The French foreign ministry and Britain’s foreign and defense ministries also had no comment.
More than 70,000 people have been killed and 1 million refugees have fled the Syrian conflict.
It started as pro-democracy protests but has turned into a sectarian war between rebels mainly from Syria’s Sunni Muslim majority and state forces defending President Bashar al Assad, who follows the Alawite faith derived from Shi’ite Islam.
The United States has said it would provide medical supplies and food directly to opposition fighters but has ruled out sending arms for fear they may find their way to Islamist hardliners who might then use them against Western targets.
Saudi Arabia and Qatar are widely believed to be providing weapons to the rebels, and Arab League ministers decided on Wednesday to let member nations arm them.

CIA-Armed And Trained Syrian Rebels ‘On Way To Battlefield’ – Zerohedge
It seems that the reason why Obama has been such a staunch supporter of a Syrian campaign without a land component, is because US-armed and trained Qatari mercenaries, also known elsewhere in the media as “rebels”, are about to take to the battlefield (ignoring for a moment prior reports that American, Israeli and other troops have already long operated on Syrian territory). The Telegraph reports that “the first cell of Syrian rebels trained and armed by the CIA is making its way to the battlefield, President Barack Obama has reportedly told senators. During a meeting at the White House, the president assured Senator John McCain that after months of delay the US was meeting its commitment to back moderate elements of the opposition. Mr Obama said that a 50-man cell, believed to have been trained by US special forces in Jordan.”
More:
The deployment of the rebel unit seems to be the first tangible measure of support since Mr Obama announced in June that the US would begin providing the opposition with small arms.
Congressional opposition delayed the plan for several weeks and rebel commanders publicly complained the US was still doing nothing to match the Russian-made firepower of the Assad regime.
Mr McCain has been a chief critic of the White House’s reluctance to become involved in Syria and has long demanded that Mr Obama provide the rebels with arms needed to overthrow the regime.
Still, one can’t help but wonder why only 50 people? After all, if the Assad regime is so proficient with chemical weapons, all that would take to wipe out the Syrian version of the A-Team would be one relatively well placed WMD hit. After all, just like in Iraq, they serve WMDs at ever regime-controlled coffee shop, both grande and venti variations, right?
As for the punchline, or what happens after the surgical intervention is over?
“They’re not trying to replace one dictator, Assad, who has been brutal… to only have al-Qaeda run Syria,” Lindsey Graham said.
No, just replace it with a pro-Qatari/pro-Syria regime, which just may have a few Al-Qaeda participants in ti, and which like in the case of Egypt, will last about two years top before it too is toppled in a countercoup. What happens then?

– The struggle against terrorism cannot be won by military means (Guardian, by Robin Cook, July 8, 2005):
In the absence of anyone else owning up to yesterday’s crimes, we will be subjected to a spate of articles analysing the threat of militant Islam. Ironically they will fall in the same week that we recall the tenth anniversary of the massacre at Srebrenica, when the powerful nations of Europe failed to protect 8,000 Muslims from being annihilated in the worst terrorist act in Europe of the past generation.Osama bin Laden is no more a true representative of Islam than General Mladic, who commanded the Serbian forces, could be held up as an example of Christianity. After all, it is written in the Qur’an that we were made into different peoples not that we might despise each other, but that we might understand each other.
Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan.Al-Qaida, literally “the database”, was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians. Inexplicably, and with disastrous consequences, it never appears to have occurred to Washington that once Russia was out of the way, Bin Laden’s organisation would turn its attention to the west.
The danger now is that the west’s current response to the terrorist threat compounds that original error. So long as the struggle against terrorism is conceived as a war that can be won by military means, it is doomed to fail. The more the west emphasises confrontation, the more it silences moderate voices in the Muslim world who want to speak up for cooperation. Success will only come from isolating the terrorists and denying them support, funds and recruits, which means focusing more on our common ground with the Muslim world than on what divides us.
More on Al-CIAda:
“The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaeda. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive the TV watcher to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US.”
